I played around with colours on the dulux app. Problem is, what might look okay on my phone screen can look weird on computer screen. Also, I doubt the colours are true but I left the names in regardless. The common theme I was trying was dark but muted colour as opposed to intense, saturated colour. I cropped the photos a lot because the app painted the ceilings also. It looked a bit overwhelming!

A lot of the brand name paint websites have colour simulators if you want to have a go.

Start an ideabook on your homepage and put the photos that you like from above in it. Start with photos of your furniture.

You say dark and cosy, so I'm finding those that go with the wood. Your ceiling doesn't look high, so you could use a vertical stripe on wallpaper or curtains. Keep the stripe broad, for a darker look.

When measuring for curtain fabric, you need 2 times the width of the window, minimum, plus seam and hem allowances.

You can't trust colours online, so if you order online make sure that it can be returned if it clashes. Your taupe/beige woodwork has a pinky undertone on my monitor, avoid colours with a yellow undertone.

I selected dark blue because it's very fashionable, works with the pinky wood, plus with with two walls of Windows and a ceiling fan, I'm guessing the room gets hot. Blue is visually cooling. That's also why I put up blockout curtains and blinds. I think you need sheers too.

neutrals work well with that blue, so do the dark reds, berry, brown, as you asked for dark. Also taupe, cream, light creamy pink, which is another very fashionable colour.

I would search for metallic lamps if I were you. If it were me I'd choose champagne gold, but there are lots of options. At night it would be good to have that gleam with the dark scheme.

I never guarantee quality, especially as quality keeps changing so fast. Depends where things are made. However, the big name brands I posted have a reputation to uphold. Doesn't always mean much these days.
