Internal Door Hanging, Urgent Advice by anyone, Please
Comments (12)chookchook2, thank you, I was having an anxiety attack thinking I was about to make a horrible mistake both visually and financially, my builders who were hanging the doors said they were going against everything by hanging them with the shorter panels at the top, (upside down) M.M didn't want to get involved and frankly couldn't see a difference? neither could my daughter? I have an older Queenslander home and the doors were already being cut down to a non standard size, I thought this made them more obvious, like hobbits were living here? I had to post on FB to get another opinion as well because he was going to charge me by the hour and the cost of 3 new doors, but he managed to flip them over and trim them again to fit. I am so glad I stayed to keep an eye on things, otherwise right now I would be terribly disappointed. I still can't upload the finished pics?...See MoreShould we render this house for a great mid century look?
Comments (22)Great to hear that you have decided not to paint the brickwork. Can I offer my opinion - I'd suggest painting the garage door and surrounding frame and the adjacent beam and column (currently white) in a dark charcoal/brown to match the ground floor brickwork try Dulux Namandji or Mali. I would redo the retaining wall with large boulders in a more freestyle layout than the current straight line and take up some of the concrete drive near the retaining wall to create a garden on the lower level, curved to still provide access to all of the undercroft unless you wish to enclose part of it with a large full height window. I'd love to see the wrought iron balustrade painted black. My home in the mid sixties had salmon coloured bricks, white window frames and fabulous turquoise gutters! The downpipes were painted to match the bricks thankfully - turquoise might have been a bit over the top! Good luck with your project, would love to see your progress. Comments (28)Hi Karly, We're loving what you have chosen so far! Although, we all have different tastes and styles - we are leaning towards Linen on this one. http://www.caesarstone.com.au/colour/2230-linen With those stunning rich Kempa floors, a warm neutral colour like Linen would work best. Contrasting white cabinetry - looks like you're onto a winner! Best, Caesarstone Australia...See MoreExterior colour scheme Would like other professionals opinions please
Comments (6)Thanks for your insight, yes I'd looked at Surfmist as well, clients seem quite pro grey so trying to subtly work their likes into the scheme as well, as I think they woule like a grey house however I think the monochrome black / white is classic and will endure the test of time longer than some shades of grey, also if they were opting for white windows may be more inclined to look at grey for the house colour however feel that the black windows will work nicer with the lexicon and tie in the black elements. Welcome all feedback...See Moregirlguides
