The countertop is a solid slab piece of Mesquite wood with a live edge (the organic shape of the front edge).

This slab was provided by my bespoke flooring contractor as he has access and knowledge of the best type of wood for this sort of application and he uses the correct type of oil product to give it the best finish possible.
