lots of colours goes with that palette you don't have to be boring ..

why do you want grey?

Vy, I don't really like the grey but am struggling to imagine the stainless whitegoods with some of the warmer colours apart from the granite, marble, stone benches that have cream brown and grey tones. Laurie, your comments are correct re too many patterns and colours, that's what I'm struggling with.

We've been to see over 30 display homes and the colours are all so similar and repetitive, obviously for resale. Kitchen and renovation showrooms are so brightly lit, my room will be mainly lit by a fluoro (warm tone) I've had 2 measurements done but neither have helped with colours.

We are also relocating the wall oven to under the microwave and having a 3 door pantry, which will mean there will be a large wall area of laminate which we need to consider. The bench will then extend along where the oven was.

The overhead cupboards currently finish around as high as I can reach but we plan on extending them to the ceiling so more paneling to see.

donza..just to confirm ?

1/ stainless steel appliances

2/ white splash back that you want to keep?

3/ keeping floor?

4/ marble laminate for bench?

1. Probably stainless

2. White tiled but will be completely replaced, maybe a bigger tile

3. Floor will replaced, probably a vinyl plank

4. Probably marble laminate bench, I've thought it can extend to the sides and back then drawers/cupboards a single colour. I do also like some of the other imitation stone but not too dark

okie here's a thought..

your marble look will match your stainless..it doesn't mean your cupboards have to..

I have a gold kitchen with stainless steel appliances ..it never occurred to me that I have to match my stainless steel in

when you think of it that way it gives you more options more colours to choose from

timber is another good one to break up your laminate ..

I'd get it change to LED if you can..or track lights lighting is important in a kitchen ..

we just had LED lights installed in our shop and they looked like skylights

That does look nice, I guess I will bring some more large samples home to get a feel for it. I'm not a fan of bright lights anywhere, shopping centres, offices etc I also don't much like gloss but I do like a strong brightl colour. My favourite colour is purple so I hope to use that with accessories (adding another colour)

Not sure I'll get that much purple in but I do like the bold colour. Better lighting may help as you suggested

yes donza all the rooms have high ceilings and loads of light I think that's how they carry it off..
