Need help with decorating my living room
Comments (41)Hi there I think that adding in wooden decorations and real/fake plants can help bring a bit of life in to your space. And the tones of plants and wooden/nature looking items work really well with neutral colours. They can be both cheap and expensive depending on your taste so finding a bargain or something to suit your needs should be quite easy. If you want a more elegant look marble decorations even if small can be a great way to add a look of class. Candles are also a great way to add in some nice smells to invite people into your home. Keep in mind that sometimes less is more. Don't overdo it and have some fun! It's nice to shop for your home....See Moreneed stuff for my new room
Comments (17)There are options between a single, or queen bed. Double beds give you six inches less than a queen bed all around, but give you room to spread out or share your bed, if you choose. King singles are also pretty roomy. I suggest buying a new bed, then seeking out the other items via asking around family and friends, as well as looking in opportunity shops. Check out neighbourhood buy swap and sell facebook pages in your local area, Your room has good light for houseplants, that always create a sense of abundance and a link to the natural world. Create a space that is truly your own and meets the purposes you need it for. You can never have genuine comfort unless it makes you feel good just being there and reflects something of your personality and the things you like and enjoy. If that room is the space where you will be sleeping and studying storage will be vital. Try and go for flexible light furniture that will also be easy for future moves and upgrades too! i started off with a few items that grew as my income and career expanded beyond my student days. If you are likely to move a bit in the next few years, do not spend too much money. Be careful of landlord rules about maintaining walls in good condition when it comes to hanging art work. Luckily, the room seems pretty neutral, so injecting colour, should not be difficult and can be done by bed linen and tall flexible storage shelves. Get to know the colour wheel and work with complimentary and contrasting colours. Your post took me back to my student days when my room, in a shared house was truly my only space of my own. Decorating it is a great starting point for getting into design, it shouuld bring you a lot of satisfaction. No need to rush with purchases either, you will find design always evolves according to how much space you have and your own changing needs, desires and budget! I loved bright colours in my teens and still do today. I also find grey tones incredibly oppressive and depressing to be in. Go with what makes you happy and comfortable! I also have a lot of animal related art work and objects in my home, because animals make me happy, but if you do not like animals, that would not work. Art does not have to be expensive. In the past I have use sheets of colourful wrapping paper on a pinboard to lift a room and bring it to life. If I had have had lots of money my choices would have reflected that. I am still using folding cane chairs and a couple of folding cane tables I purchased when I was a student, that have carried forward with me, because I love them and they still work with other elements of my home....See MoreI need help decorating our entrance hall
Comments (6)You could create an ‘art gallery’ and light each canvas along the entry. This would draw the eye down the hall. Consider what is at the end of the space, where the eye stops and add a feature piece of furniture, paint colour or sculpture there....See MoreDecor for living room. Comments (7)Similar to the photos posted, keeping it neutral in colours will always look lovely. Add some gorgeous baskets for extra pillows and throws, maybe replace some of your artificial flowers with real plants....See More- 7 years ago
