Have you considered just using stainless steel sheet. I have done this in three properties. It looks good and is relatively cheap. I have details of a supplier that I have used in each case if you need it.

check the Hardies range of cladding eg Panelclad looks similar but the challenge will be to match the stain so you may need to remove a section and ask a paint specialist for advice

Your kitchen is small and already quite busy. I would make it as simple and clean as possible. You can't beat ceramic tiles for cost, durability and ease of installation. Hi Denise, They are stunning, closest I could find are these from max sparrow , they have a metal wrap around but I am sure they could be made without, but quite expensive but gorgeous.
