Some good comments above. My simple suggestion goes like this. Starting at each end, I see they are adjustable, double up the shelves making them stronger, and then you will only have two shelves in each bay. Even them out so yu end up with three equal cubbies. They will look quite cubed, and house foldable fabric baskets which are cheaply available in many colours, try Kmart for packs of 5 for less than 10.00. I would use these end cubes for your practical needs, like onesies, singlets, nappies and creams etc. The central shelves I would display the children's favourite things, on lower shelves, books to access, and some things you want seen as keepsakes, not to play with a they won't reach them easily. The shelves could be configured differently in each space depending on use, but I'd utilize the lower two cubes in one room as desk space, with books above. A cute colourful lamp, and again foldable baskets each side, so that perhaps each child may choose their own side, and have somewhere that's just theirs. In a house ful, it's even more important to have somewhere just for your stuff. These will be great when you make them a little less busy, and providing those inserts will keep them looking tidy, even when they're not. maybe you Could have different colours for each child, to help with the order of things. Hi Amanda, the hexagon tiles on the floors will absolutely look great too and if that's the dream, then go for it. Personally, I would also try to run the hex tiles up and over the bath hob if your budget allows. A light grey grout (instead of white) and also sealing the grout properly will help to maintain. I like both vanities, they are very similar, and would probably go with the one that offers the most drawer space as there's not a lot of storage in the bathroom (speaking of which, add a niche in the shower area if you can). Also bear in mind the toilet roll holder and make sure it can be fixed to the side of the vanity despite the drawer (as you can't fix to the other side of the toilet which I presume will have a glass shower screen). Lastly, I know you've already mentioned white, but have you considered timber (or timber-look) panels for the drawer fronts? It's just a suggestion, but it will bring some warmth into the modern space and may also be another way to tie in with the federation style of the home. DanMac86......it depends on where you live as to how often you would need to paint. I’m expecting maybe 7-8 years. To be honest we cheated so we didn’t have to paint the whole house. We virtually only painted the front of the hours and a couple of metres up the side. You would need to pick your point to stop like a gate. If we didn’t have water views I would have put white shutters on the windows. I just picked that outside colour to fade away the primrose. The other option is to just paint the external frames of the windows which most painters will do. This then gives you the wider options for an external colour. We just didn’t because it’s on the beach and saltwater etc. Good luck! Cass :)
