What's your magic cleaning tip?
Comments (23)Haha CCI, it's good to know I'm not the only one happy to use such a convoluted description of a handy shower tool. I don't think there'd be any issue with bicarb in the front loader, although I use it in a top loader with a liquid detergent. It just boosts the power of the detergent, which is why you're able to use so much less of it. The vinegar works as a softener, but doesn't leave any vinegar smell. Honestly, since doing this my towels and face cloths have been softer than ever. It took a few washes to get the full effect, but it was noticeable from the first one. Vinegar and bicarb also help keep the machine fresh and clean, as well as the plumbing, potentially saving problems down the track. My Dyson recently blew up, it was well out of warranty. There are TWO filters you need to clean, not one... I'd only been doing the one, for almost 8 years! Anyway, they sent me a code to cover postage costs and I boxed it up and sent it off to them. They had it back to me very quickly with a brand new replacement motor (and filters), which has a new warranty on it. It cost me almost $90. Fantastic service. Every single part is replaceable, I love that. What a shame more companies don't have such great service and ethic....See MoreWhat are your best tips for making your small space bigger?
Comments (15)The last home we had was a very small workers cottage so I kept the walls a light off white, table and to unit tops were gloss white to bounce the light around. My dining chairs and bar stools were clear acrylic so that I could see through them, the ends of my island bench/brekky bar were mirrored and my curtains were textured white sheers so that they also didn't take up too much visual room. All of my furniture was on legs so that I could see under it and the lounge room rug was pulled away from the lounge just a teeny bit so that I could see a little bit of timber flooring all the way round it, that all made the floor size look just a bit bigger. Bedrooms had mirrored wardrobe doors and bathroom was almost completely white (except for dark floor) and had frameless shower screen and oversized vanity mirror to reflect as much light as possible. Friends and visitors would comment that the house was bigger than they had imagined from the outside.......it wasn't, it was just styled inside to make it look larger....See MoreTips on console or cabinet style
Comments (16)Hi Johan Not sure if it is possible with the construction of the unit, but you could possibly remove the upright cupboards (or make up new ones) and place them further out on the edges. This would visually make the unit a lot bigger and fill the space in a bit better proportion. (If you have to make up new ones you could make them deeper for more storage) you could then make up a simple panel at a cabinetmaker for the infill between in the same colour, which would allow the mounting of a large tv on it without to much drama. the bulkhead over would need to be extended also like this (quick and dirty) pic below... Cheers...See MoreTips and suggestions for my casa
Comments (37)I think you need some darker artwork like graphics or abstract or B/W prints to ground the place and charcoal fluffy cushions instead of white . You could do a gallery wall with prints in black frames and a floor lamp....See Morepazza_italiana78
