Comments (54)I agree about the idea of putting roller blinds on your door , matching the colours of the others must mention about Annie Sloan paint : it is a chalk paint and you can apply it on any wood surface with at having to use primer, what " seals" the pain is the Annie Sloan wax you apply afterwards. You can Buy Annie Sloan on line , i use Annie Sloan a lot.it is expensive if you want the legs painted black to be smooth, just paint and wax , but one coat of Annie Sloan does not give a good coverage. It you want it " distressed" slightly, then just sand a few it on the edges afterwards, before the waxing With a slight " distressed" leg look, but you would need to give the top of the table a light sanding to " rough it up" on the edges if you want a good solid, coverage, Annie Sloan is not the right choice have a look on eBay, I have just bought some cages light to fit near my table outside ( I was just playing around with them yesterday before the electrician comes toda), they were only like $46 each...See MoreHelp! Comments (8)Thanks for the support and advice. The house is a fair distance behind ours and its a bit higher. The owner keeps the dogs just for hunting wild pigs and they're in large metal sheds, so the noise is like a speaker across our street. I've approached the owner and he's been known to the council Rangers for 8 years. The noise nuisance orders in place but the dogs are still barking... He doesn't care. I suggested the citronella collars him too. I was informed that a roller shutter over the windows will keep the noise down a little but will only reduce a small dogs bark by 3 Db. Comments (5)This looks great. Our bathroom had the same layout, but we managed to fit a much longer bath and a toilet in by moving the vanity from under the window to the left hand wall, putting the longer bath under the window, putting a toilet where the bath was previously and leaving the shower in the same position. We also changed the door to a cavity sliding door to take up less space in the room. We had a similarly awful 80s renovation in ours too, and used the same sort of wall tile...See Morewhat height windows and doors for a 3 meter ceiling?
Comments (5)You should also consider thermal efficiency and your views. Even double-glazed windows transmit heat. Your house doesn't seem to have many eaves. If you have the taller windows on your side facing walls will it mean you just get a better view of the neighbours roof and your side fence? Will they get a better view into your side facing windows? Don't just consider how it looks from the inside, but think about the whole house from the outside as well - including views, privacy, and extra heat gain in summer, and heat loss in winter, plus all of those extra window furnishings. If you are getting custom made window furnishings then there will be extra cost in materials and labour. If you are buying standard off the-shelf window coverings then there is much less range available at 2700mm heights for full length windows.
