Decor ideas please :)
We would welcome any advice... all furniture is going to a relative, leaving a blank canvas. We like the Scandinavian style, and grey shades, just worried it will end up looking very dull?

Comments (20)Definitely the basket is unnecessary and without it makes cleaning easier too. If I really want to be picky, I prefer just the three pieces on one side, just swap the plants for the brighter colour. I like things a bit off balance. I hate to do this to you, but memo for the future - always get non reflective glass in frames, makes a big difference. Comments (12)OK, I have lots of ideas with that brief; Starting with the floor, I think a big cosy knitted/plaited style rug like this one would set the tone. From there I think a round coffee table (maybe in a dark timber not unlike your kitchen to keep the colour story working between the spaces) to help with the movement of people within the space and finally I would repeat a modular sofa to maintain the number of seats you require. I'd consider the sofa in a donkey brown (grey/brown). I would replace the side table with a round side table that is in a new material (metal or ceramic) but same sort of colours to layer up the textures. Cushions on the sofa should then be various textures but continuing the same colours. The entertainment unit I would then select something that is textural like this. Scandi can be a variety of different things - it doesn't have to be all neutrals, there are some exciting colour mixes out there.
I have posted a board below and you already have the lamp that would fit it well with the scheme. It features grey as well as sage green and a great blue that lifts the scheme.
The wallpaper would be for a small area only, such as the wall behind the sofa.
They are quite dark so could be softened with plain colour throws.

We are really happy that you are going for Scandinavian style. It is so beautiful and clean. It's always exciting when a new project begin. Bravo!
No worries, it won't look dull - You just need to keep simple lines and contrast the monochrome palette of colours.
Don't forget an adequate lighting. Having a couple of lamp shades, bare pendant bulbs or a hanging cluster of bulbs will add that Scandinavian twist to your room. Find below a couple of examples that might help you.
