You could also add, along with the basket and plant holder a few coloured glass candle holders in a warm colour or mixed colours, or clear glass candle holders and different coloured candles you could choose any colour that you fancy at the time and then when you get bored with one colour, change that colour for another colour, another thought is to add a table runner in a colour of your choice.

If you had a power point then a lamp would be nice along with the plant & black or timber picture frames. Are you using the London theme in an industrial or vintage way? If so then what about timber crates instead of the wicker basket & since you chose the concrete planter keep the theme more industrial maybe?

I think you need some height one side of the table three candle sticks different heights as a group or lamp a small runner/ doylie under them to soften the look .

Sorry I can no longer post photos here or I would show you my table. I have a pot plant at one end, beside it a tall timber elephant with its trunk raised that is supposed to be a welcoming feature (but I just like elephants) and at the other end a woven bowl. I find when family come they tend to just toss car keys and phones on the table so they have now been programmed to put them the bowl to avoid scratching the table.

Definitely keep your pot plant but look for an ornament to add some colour to the area - maybe something representative of London to tie in the map and do consider a bowl for visitors.

With Christmas around the corner, maybe decorate the table for Christmas for now while you get the feel for how you want it to look.

I'm not sure that the basket goes with the scheme but maybe these would appeal to you?

I like the idea of a travel theme & the bowl or something for keys is a good idea.
Along with the plant & or a vase of flowers, photo frames or interesting sculpture.

Wow! Love the colours, the table and the print! Yes a lamp or lovely coloured candles will add some interest and maybe find a polished wood or lacquered bowl to use as your 'landing strip" to put keys, change and sunglasses into when you get home. The other thing I'd recommend is maybe a custom cut glass top to protect your lovely table from scratches, especially if you are going to put objects on the table!

It could be a good idea to put a basket under the hall table with a leafy fern so you have something organic but on the table I would use something silver and shiny as the area seems a bit dull, like a polished silver bowl in an oval or irregular shape, this might provide some interest in the space. As you have other walls in the the area, how about finding a set of black and white prints also with the London Map theme and creating a wall to balance with this one. Karen

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm still waiting on the arrival of the print, so it's not finished yet and I'm waiting on a metal basket for under the table, as I agree that the natural one doesn't really fit.

I did want some warm natural tones in the space so it's not so harsh, so I've added a wooden Freedom horse I've had for ages, and painted the circles black on this Kmart jute rug as they were multi coloured.

I added the plant and the marble cross, but I think the other side needs something. I really like the below antler candlestick with a white tapered candle in it but I'm waiting for the print to see what might work.
Unfortunately, there is no power point so I can't put a lamp in this space. But I do like the idea of complementing artwork on another wall. I've travelled to London many times and gave tonnes of beautiful architectural photos so I'm thinking of putting a few on the wall at the end of the entryway. In black and white of course :)

Hi Brianna, I like the pieces you have added & agree with olldroo re some coour. I'm sure you are keen to see the print on the wall & the basket along with something else on the right side?

I would try not to have too many things the same size & therefore nothing stands alone or the balance is out. A larger size vase of fresh flowers on the right side (colour for olldroo) would be simple & help to balance the vignette without competing. The rug idea works too, well done!

Well I do now olldroo! I think some more green would look good in Brianna's space too...

Thanks olldroo, the door is opposite the table (the white door in the pic goes to the garage) so I'll swing the horse around to face more toward the door. I thought about moving the items a little more central to the table, just slightly off centre as opposed to justified left as it is now.
Thanks Louie for the colour suggestions, I do love green! I'm just awaiting the other items before I progress much further, as I don't want to take away from the poster art too much.

Some of your black & white photos on that end wall in black frames would be a nice statement that you could play with until the poster comes.

Brianna - the best thing about this is that you can move your decorations around to suit your mood, the time of the year or just change things out to surprise people. Just the table and your artwork is all that is 'fixed'. Have fun with it.

Bit of an update...art is now hung and I've added just a few styling pieces to begin with so I can subtract or change...
I went without the basket, as it looked a bit cluttered.

Definitely the basket is unnecessary and without it makes cleaning easier too.

If I really want to be picky, I prefer just the three pieces on one side, just swap the plants for the brighter colour. I like things a bit off balance.

I hate to do this to you, but memo for the future - always get non reflective glass in frames, makes a big difference.

Now have some fun with some Christmas decorations to give it a whole new look:)) You will find this is an area to have a lot of fun with and to make regular changes to.
