Need help with my boring out dated Living room Please,,,
Comments (17)Initially, in that case, I'm liking the idea of playing with silver. But first, the main difficulty is that there is a mix of styles -- quite pared-down and functional on the one side of the room, then on the other side the mirror and all, which are ornate. My first suggestion is to move the TV to where the mirror is, as Mark was provisionally suggesting above. Would your TV console fit there? Then we might be able to bring the mirror and that pretty chest of drawers into the sitting area, which would give you a better balance. Separate the mirror and the chest; they're fighting each other. The mirror could go over the brown couch so that it reflects the view from the window that's currently blocked by the TV. Would the chest fit where the small table currently is? The small table could then act as a side table to the black couch, in the corner where you have I-know-not-what ... that big black board. I'd suggest you take everything off it except the white statuette. I have other thoughts but I'll leave it at that for now; very interested to see what Mark suggests....See Morehow should i decorate my study?
Comments (3)Hi Sophie, I rather like the pictures on your clipboards and how you have your tools...busy but organised...is that your preferred style to help focus on a task, to amuse, or perhaps encourage creative thought? Start by checking out "study nooks" on Houzz to see what ideas appeal to you - look at what has been done to create the feel of the space... you have a lot of options with your nook and whether you opt for paint, wallpaper, material, a collage, where you place items etc will depend on the specific style needed to help you study and what else you do in that room as well as your budget and how much time and effort you put into planning and implementing it. Copper will certainly richly complement black, and painting a wall is straightforward if permitted, but realise (for future changes) that it takes many coats of a lighter colour to effectively cover up an existing dark colour (even if possible). Also be aware that trims such as the white shelves, brackets, corkboard surrounds etc will add to the overall effect. So, for example covering the corkboard with paper or material in a complementary or matching colour may help tie it in to your theme. When you have narrowed the choices a little, take another photo with your copper pieces included and repost. Hope this helps....See MoreBoring bathroom help!
Comments (19)Is the bathroom in a rental property or do you own? If you are looking for the modern look then the black accessories will definitely work with that look whilst the bamboo pieces will add warmth and texture, maybe a spa feel. I agree with the previous posts about storing away your toiletries, this will also help with a modern look. Matching towels in maybe grey can be used as part of the styling. Once you belongings are stashed then you can add some nice visual pieces to add some dimension and colour, like vases with greenery and candles....See MoreNeed help with a shared study
Comments (3)the rule has to be that everyone has storage allocated to their own stuff and any left out of correct storage goes in the garbage bin (or hidden by mum and dad and brought out as a "new" gift at some future opportunity) i guess we should always do what we expect the kids to copy...how old are the kids? could their stuff be stored in roll out bins under the bench and your stuff up higher ...it's lovely that the kids want to be with you and makes it easier to supervise their activities...See MoreA B
