White-matte cabinets (flat panel, not shaker) and white bench (or maybe epoxy sealed marine ply??...siriuskey can tell you about that), mirror splash. Love the ceilings. I personally would go for a modern, stream-line, no handles, integrated appliances look. This space has real potential to be very cool, even with the slate. It doesn't need any more more texture or darkness. This is a nice kitchen, you should be able to sell it on ebay.

Thanks Kate, that's good to know! No I haven't gotten a price from a cabinet maker but from doing a lot of research online, it will most likely be a lot more expensive. I'm doing an ikea kitchen, walk in pantry and laundry so there will be a lot of cabinets. I'm more than happy to go with a cabinet maker but don't really know of many that would be the same price or cheaper than ikea. Not that I expect them too either.....they are craftsman :-)
