Oh yeah. I have the masks, everything has plastic sheeting underneath. I really have to wait for days that aren't too breezy, because of the paint coming off, plus the heat gun loses effectiveness when getting pummeled with wind. Unfortunately, calm days make for a pretty hot job for my end. The things we endure to make things right... haha After everything gets primed, then I need to work on a paint scheme. Might take another season to really get it all done.

You need to do as Wuff advises - also check that there's no water coming in from above (if it's failed, it's time to think about a bathroom reno or partial reno) - if this is Ok then definately get your exhaust fan serviced or replaced (get the most efficient you can and one that can be programmed for a delayed turn-off) and then hit the entire bathroom in a bit of a cleaning frenzy. I can see that you've got sections of grout coming out - it's also worth re-grouting (horrible job) - just make sure that you remove all the grout before applying fresh grout. I find that hot water, white vinegar (equal parts) and a half a cup of rubbing alcohol with a few drops of dishwashing detergent work a treat in any space but particularly where there's any porous surfaces (make sure you use rubber gloves - it's pretty harsh on your hands) - just replenish your solution when it starts getting grubby and cold - the alcohol and vinegar kill the mould spores, and the water and dishwashing provides general washing assistance. (Bleach will take the black colouring from mould but wont kill it completely in porous surfaces such as grout so use bleach afterward if the vinegar and alcohol don't work). Make sure that you dry out the area fully - if you've got a dehumidifier now's the time to use it. Going forward, get a glass squeegee and use it to get rid of excess water after you've used your shower - also cut down on the amount of steam generated if you can. You can also make a homemade bathroom cleaner (3 parts water, 1 part rubbing alcohol, 1 part vinegar a small dash of dishwashing detergent and 15-20 drops of teatree oil) spray it down and use bicarb of soda sprinkled on a cloth to clean down your tiles, tub and grout.

For me...I'd keep the deck the colour it is, may give it a refresh if necessary and go hunting for outside bentwood firniture, you know that curly bamboo kind, it never dates and is elegant and above all comfortable...where many outdoor settings may look good but are not inviting. If the space were mine...and if it had shelter from the elements, or if you didn't mind some of those outdoor firniture protector covers for inclement weather ( when you may as well bring the furniture in...whatever it is..) .I'd also condsider going on the hunt for some lovely old colonial-looking wicker items painted brilliant white, it always makes a statement, always looks classy and is always gentle on the posterior! If you can find the genuine article often you will discover that the seats are made of entwined dried grasses and palm leaves. I'd also go looking at some of those plant/cafe' places...that sell plants, fountains, as well as up-market snacks and are often furnished with wicker...no harm in asking where they bought it...they may even sell it. Its a cosy little space...I'd just have come large comfy outdoor chairs and maybe little side tables. Think of fancy English ladies sitting out of doors watching a cricket match on the manor lawn and sipping drinks...that's the scenario I see there. Maybe even one of thos old tall plant stands with a large green specimen plant....Most of all....have fun.

we used extra wide black sarlon shade cloth attached to timber frames that were then attached to the frame of a pergola against the house..initially for sun screening but we found the screens so useful for hot, cold and windy weather and also excluded insects, frogs and snakes and made a great safe play area for kids and animals...the materials cost less than a few hundred dollars for the first experiment for a 7m x 5m area and the black sarlon, looks like fly screen when stretched tight to the frames and enhanced the view looking out, obscured the view looking in and added months of comfortable use to our outdoor area... another panel installed along a hot morning verandah grew a Boston Ivy all over it that was extra cool in Summer, gorgeous in Autumn and leafless to allow more light in Winter
