Help in demolishing

Hi,
We bought a house to re-build a new home, now we find that our neighbour's house had extension some times ago, and it was built on our wall, so if we demolish our house, their extension part of the house will has no wall on our side. Any one know what is the best way to deal with this problem?

Contact your building designer. Council will need an application before demolishing as well.

Whatever building/demo works you undertake, you will be responsible for remediating issues with common walls....unless they have extended without the appropriate building approvals and built to boundary??? In which case you still have the choice of picking your battle- 1. Remediate it and move on- perhaps if it doesn't impact your building or light access (keep the peace). 2. Speak to council building certifiers to discuss your options, knowing it may get very unfriendly between you and your neighbour.

Paint the extruding garage a feature colour and the room above a different shade of that. For the rest of the house one colour. I like what the other person said with greys. Use grey as a feature and may be a toned down white for the rest. Posts could be black or dark grey and timber slats as you thought. If you have timber slats anywhere, I would probably leave some exposed brick somewhere, that is, if you are painting or rendering the house. I like 3 different elements in a house. eg. 3 different colours or 3 different products/textures.

without accurate dimensions my suggestion offers twin bathrooms with a central dressing area and biw accessible from the bedroom ...alternatively option 2 could have the storage swopped to the bathroom side to create a small entry hall to separate the wiw from the bathroom and, instead of a wall of glass, panels of horizontal or vertical glass and glass doors could enhance lighting and, based on my guestimated measurements, the twin bathrooms design offers much more than the required 16' of full height storage wall as well as a more comfortably sized dressing area

Demolishing a pool

We covered a small inground spa which had been turned into a fish pond with a low deck. Spa drained and filled with rocky rumble ti help with drainage. There was enough room on 3 sides to build the deck without removing any of the spa structure. The fourth side was next to the pool which we retained. Little trickier but as there was 1-2 paver width between spa and pool, we managed to have deck and glass pool fence installed. No idea on the technical requirements!!! Has been in place for 5 years with no issues touch wood 😀 Good luck!

Selling items from house to be demolished

we've sold lots of items from demolitions on Gumtree and been quite happy with the result but it can be time consuming and you have to remove the items intact, post suitable adds, answer lots of emails and calls and then be available for buyers to inspect the goods and help load etc but, if you have a house full of special lovely things, i would first research a specialty restoration and/or demolition company who would buy the lot and take responsibility for removal and sale..but it depends on where you live...are there likely to be homeowners in your area looking for what you have to offer, are you in a city with lots of potential customers and restoration sales companies and can you remove all the items before the wreckers damage everything and/or have you organised a builder or knock down rebuild company as they should have some advice

Was their extension approved by council? I don't understand how they could have built on the boundary without council approval and how you didn't see that their extension was on the boundary when you purchased the home.

I'd start by finding out whether their extension is legal. If not, it will make for tense relations with your neighbours for the foreseeable future, but I think you'd have to report it. I wouldn't "repair" and extension that was unlawfully built in the first place as part of your own build.
