Exterior Colorbond colours in blues and greys
Comments (7)Colour visualiser tool. Try shale grey and Wallaby roof on it. The blue they show on the garage is deep ocean, one of colorbonds Classic colours. Too dark for roof anywhere that gets hot. To match a fence to that blue, try Colorbond bluestone. http://alcoil.com.au/inspiration/colour-visualisation-tool/?roof=7F7C78&roof-type=tile...See MoreI need advice for updating/improving the exterior of this home.
Comments (7)I love this house - it's got so much potential for "wow" with a small budget, depending on the materials you use and if you're prepared to do all/part of the work yourselves. A trip to your local hardware store will help you get costings and work out what you feel able to do yourself and where you're going to employ experts. If the pergola is council approved, I'd keep it, extend a deck (eco wood is easy to use for a beginner handyperson) where the pergola is. I'd add a louvered roof over it so that you have a living space (I'd use specialists for this), and a way of keeping hot summer sun off the front of the house. As it looks like you've got a metal roof, I'd think about painting it, the house trim and the garage doors the same colour to give your home a sense of cohesiveness and keep the exterior walls white as it looks fresh, doesn't date and is in keeping with the style and period of your home. Refreshing the front garden beds will make a huge difference too....See MoreColorbond colour scheme advice
Comments (30)Thanks girlguides for your feedback :-) With my limited colour knowledge (LOL) I thought that Windspray looked OK with Basalt - Windspray is definitely a cooler grey but Basalt seems pretty much neutral (i.e. not warm or cool) so I thought it worked when we went to look at samples... You are definitely right though, it is a pretty subtle colour scheme. I think I'm pretty much decided now that the gutters and fascia should be the same colour - so with your suggestion they'd both be surfmist. With your colour scheme, what would you suggest for the balustrades and balustrade/deck posts? I thought a darker colour for them would be best since I want them to recede into the view when sitting on the deck/looking outside....See MoreIs sarking needed for colorbond roof?
Comments (4)Hi Smita86 The Sarking under a steel roof is there not just as insulation or a Fire spark barrier but it is mainly there under steel rooves as a vapor barrier. In our cooler months, water condensation forms on the underside of the steel and will then drip onto the ceiling materials. The Sarking first reduces the amount of condensation that forms on the steel and also catches any drips; then allowing the water to disburse without causing damage to roof timbers or ceiling linings like ceiling Plasterboard which are not water proof. So in short, yes Sarking really is quite important over the long term. Hope this helps, Malcolm....See MoreLesleyH
