Bamboo or Vinyl Flooring for Salon
Comments (5)Hi sammsymes78, I think that a vinyl product will suit your needs a lot better from an aesthetic, practicality and functionality view point. I would be concerned about the use of bamboo in wet areas. Karndean, Gerflor and Godfrey Hirst all have great vinyl plank products that are either glued to the floor surface or loose laid over the substrate and come in a terrific range of colours. (Link to image showing use of vinyl plankl in recent project here)You are sure to find something very close to the colour you are looking for in once of these ranges. Sheet vinyl would also be suitable (Link to image showing use of sheet vinyl in recent project here) I'm not sure where you are located, but if there is one near you I suggest you contact a Delta FloorWorld Store. They stock all of these products and will be able to recommend something suitable. All the best, Jo Powell 3 Pea's Property Styling...See MoreHamptons kitchen cabinetry problems
Comments (34)Yes Yes Yes..... As Good as it Gets.... has the best kitchen. I remember watching it, and kept going back, just to see the kitchen. Actually the whole house was just the best PLUS a great movie to. I ended up buying the dvd just to keep reminding me how good the kitchen looks. I'm in a confused mind as to weither I paint my kitchen cupboards or change the benchtop. You can comment on my site as I have just posted my kitchen last night. So yes, I will refresh my memory by watching movie again. Good luck Debbie....See MoreShould I choose concrete- or timber-look floor tiles?
Comments (23)I will be the loan naysayer and go: Vinyl Plank timber pattern tiles. I did these in my kitchen and they helped make the room. Used Karndean, but any European brand should be fine (avoid American and assume they are using American or worse if they don't say the country of origin). http://www.karndean.com/en-au/floors/landing-pages/new-looselay-longboard?gclid=CjwKCAjwspHaBRBFEiwA0eM3kQ7eEFPH5FlK2IwV3o7ZsbbmJ19srG0OM_tWK5dhPMNyDdwxGPUr4BoCoYcQAvD_BwE Caveats: Ground must be FLAT. 100% flat, ruler FLAT. If not you will have to level. If flat, you can lay them yourself. Our floor had to be levelled and it was tough. still got a few high patches and gaps because of that. However I have done it on a concrete surface myself since and it's beautiful. Benefits: Nice and soft on the foot. (less ankle pain) single tile replacement. Looks fantastic. No PVC glue fume issues and fairly resilient. Do be wary though of metal chair legs scraping the floor. Waterproof! when installed right with no gaps! (why I would choose them in a kitchen over timber or Eeek carpet!.... Yes previous owner installed shagpile carpet in the kitchen)....See MoreKarndean flooring huge mistake
Comments (20)I’m so frustrated. I have the exact same problem except my rep says HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I’m just heartsick I wasted so much money on this floor. It started with big gapping problems right away, and what seemed like the finish coming off, and it looking dirty and footprints etc. It took about 14 months to get the claim back and Karndean said the installer “misrepresented” what underpayment was used. I also found out -14 months after my initial claim-that the dirty scuff marks was not part of my original claim. They say I have to make a new claim even though Jeremy the Karndean rep discussed the appearance with the distributor, Tri States flooring. No one let me look at the claim to make sure it has all the information. I am also not allowed to see any factory test results or any other type of information pertinent to my claim. They just tell me everything checked out on their end and it is my housekeeping skills that have caused a film to develop on my floor. I have only used their products or water and Norwex cloths. It is very disheartening to constantly have a dirty scruffy looking floor in a beautiful new kitchen I have waited my whole life floor. I truly regret not reading the reviews , I regret not using a real wood or ceramic product. For buying top of the line products I got factory seconds....See Moredeejay1959
