I would paint the roof charcoal grey, the exterior walls a lighter grey. Trimmings in black, same with the slats beneath the verandah. It would blend into the environment and bring attention to the view of the mountains in the background. To add a pop of colour and bring focus to the front door in an inviting way, I would paint it red.

Hi rachemacdonald Natural white is one of my favourite interior whites. It's not too creamy but still warm and not cold and sterile. Use low sheen on walls. Use half strength on the ceilings in a flat finish. (The ceiling acts as a reflector to bounce light around the room.) The trims - arch, skirts, windows and doors can be half strength in a satin finish. This will modernise the space and make it feel more spacious. Best wishes.

I have painted houses light grey, white (twice) and black. Each time I have used semi-gloss vivid white for my window and door trim. The semi gloss does draw ones eye more and makes it a feature (so good if thats what you like - looks fabulous when the house is matt white) but what I enjoy the most is that it is much easier to keep clean.. I’d suggest using pieces of plaster, painted in your chosen colours, to see what the colours look like in different rooms and at different times of the day. We were always going for Natural White which ended up having a pink tinge in certain light in our home. Our large back area is east facing (8m of glass stacking doors) with two south facing windows and two large skylights for northern light. Our colour consultant suggested Dulux Snowy Mountains Qtr strength and it is great for our home. Not stark (no blue/grey tinge) but definitely not too warm. We went all the same colour - walls, trims, ceilings - just in different finishes. Modern home with squareset ceilings. White is so hard. Good luck with your choice!
