Comments (6)gee I've had so many great buys it would be hard to pick just one. Over the years Ive found great: art, antiques, collectables and practical everyday round the house items. However, people can't assume they will find a bargain every time they go to a garage sale. I am an addict and go just about every weekend...See Moremess left in the garage
Comments (10)I'm not a professional tile setter... but I have done a lot of tile work in the past in our past home. Tiling is kind of an art and even with the spacers often times the tiles shift a small amount depending on how thick the mortar set is. Sometimes the weather and humidity can affect this. I've set tiles perfectly and come back hours later and sometimes they've shifted even the tiniest amount due to more humidity in the air which affects the mortar mix. Mixing mortar comes with experience and it just takes time to get the ratio of water to mortar right every single time. I think its possible that they can re-do some of the worst offenders but overall I would just encourage people who want black grout be willing to embrace variation to some small degree because unless this is a Level 5 finish its pretty par for the course....See MoreGarage conversion
Comments (13)Do you want a hanging rail for your kids , or a hanging rail for your kid's use ? Hahaha . Just at a glance , it seems a strange project -- you will end up with a huge wash-house , AND a seperate mud-room . And the laundry will be relatively dark , although I assume you are going to change the door to a couple of windows and a partial wall or similar ? I would have imagined you'd have an external door in the far wall and/or back wall , and a window on the back wall and/or far wall ? THEN you could have done a smaller laundry , and put a ranch slider in the front and had an office , or another bedroom , or higher windows and put a spa pool there . But a 6 metre by 5 metre laundry , and a mudroom that is say 2 x 2 1 /2 , seems unusual . I know that doesn't help your $15k quote , just an observation -- I'd spend more and get way more , or do almost nothing . I know re-sale is less of a consideration with a farmhouse , but thats the way you still think -- will it give value to me , and the next owner ?...See MoreDialwyn
