Hi Louise, We have kinda rearranged certain room openings, and all rooms has been gutted and now being erected with new walls. Thats the top level layout plan i have sent. The lower level has 2 more bedroom and laundry, bathroom (sidebyside) and a garage which was opening to media room (common lounge area) and I have thus converted this garage to a 5th bedroom. Not so much of floor space we have, so hence the only option was (as per amatuer thinking) to rearrange the walls, create empty unused space with storage area and so on and so forth.

Keeping the heat out as much as possible is important, before it passes through the glass. If so, you could consider installing multi split aircon units in the bedrooms. That way you will only need one extra outdoor unit. Or, if it’s not possible to add an extra outdoor unit, could you swap the current outdoor unit for one that would power three indoor units? One for each bedroom and one for the living area. As well as cooling they also provide the most energy efficient form of heating. If that’s not possible, ceiling fans might help. If you are renting your options are more limited. Portable air conditioners for very hot days. They’re noisy and expensive to run but they do the job in a small room like a bedroom. There are also some heat shifting systems that could also shift cold air, but they need a roof cavity, which probably won’t suit your situation. Best if luck.

It's a bit hard to tell without seeing the whole layout, but before making a decision I would investigate the logistics. There are rules in the BCA about where toilets can be placed, and it wll be more expensive to install one in a concrete slab, depending on whether S or P. I would seek the advice of a professional builder before making a decision. Kate has provided you with a few good layouts but they all make the entrance to your house into a mudroom, as you say. If you must do it, make it hidden (e.g. the door is seamless in the wall so it just looks like a cupboard). Everyone needs an extra dunny somewhere, but just think carefully about amenity - where are family/guests going to be when they want to use it? Outside? Somewhere in the house? Then locate the dunny close to where that is so you don't have to give people a long set of directions to find it. Best of luck.
