So many varied comments here! That makes it hard! And I about to add more. lol I love the idea of changing the light fixture to your feathered one and softening the table with a bench seat and adding peacock chairs. All that is that uncluttered boho leaning towards Hamptons look that I too love. I personally would get rid of the other chairs and add some rustic timber ones or even those cream ones that Julie Herbet put up. Don't be frightened to go with your taste. And don't stress too much about what style it is. You have some good ideas, build on those and you will end up with a lovely warm and welcoming area that people love and you enjoy. I believe we need to inject some personality into our designing and decorating. Without that we can end up with show room perfect but souless rooms.

Looks like the real estate agent photo is quite stretched and that the kitchen is quite small, largely because of that, I'd personally recommend having two medium size pendant lights hanging over your bench-top. As for the dining table, i'd recommend a glass topped dining table, so that light can flow through the glass, so you don't block yourself visually - and in essence, creating an illusion of a larger space then perhaps it actually is. I might be a bit late to the party, but have you thought about putting the TV on the long wall and the lounge facing the tv, creating a bit more of an entrance way? Classic 1970's build. You can tone down the bricks by painting the trim in a contrast. Gutters, railings, windows all painted in a nice cool contrast colour normally does well with these hot, dark brick colours. I notice you have aluminium windows but these homes look much nicer with timber windows and doors. Actually these homes can look quite good once done up and there is nothing particularly ugly about it's overall dimensions or shape, it's just the colour scheme is out of date. It helps if you re-roof in a contemporary colorbond too. The joy of these homes is that the layout and room sizes are usually very good and work well with modern living.
