looks fantastic.. at some stage I want to change my kitchen and extend it but just move the breakfast bar back a bit and make it longer. That would add 3 or 4 drawers 90 wide to the end of my breakfast bar and make the corner cupboard usable. A new caesarstone benchtop would top it off nicely I hate the laminate I have now.. In the meantime while I am waiting to afford to do this I am going to just get the 3 or 4 drawer unit and put a wooden top on it and place it at the end of my brekky bar. I will be able to use the cabinetry when I remodel the kitchen. In this photo you can just see the edge of the hallway wall.. if I extend out to be level with that then it will look right.. what you cant see in this photo i my pantry as there is none. Currently I use a hallway cupboard for all my baking and spices. And you can see that I have a long window just to the left front of the breakfast bar. So cant extend past that. So not much to work with.. the hole is where my fridge sits. These are photos of the setup pre purchase.

I suggest Laminex Diamond Gloss in 'Kashmir Granite' for your new benchtops and splashback. I have had this exact bench top colour in the Diamond Gloss finish in my own kitchen for just over 10 years and still love it as it has not dated. I also have Antique White cupboard doors, however mine are vinyl wrapped with a satin finish making the doors appear a more 'cream' colour which was not exactly as I planned, however I still love them. I had planned for my Antique White doors to look more like yours do, which appear to have a more standard finish; I was unaware that by having a 'satin' finish as my husband wanted, would change the colour slightly. Also, as I hate cleaning the grout in tiles, I had my splashbacks made the same as my benchtop and love how easy they are to clean. Another bonus with the 'Kashmir Granite' laminate is that is looks great with lots of different accent colours, such as red, orange, olive, brown, black, stainless steel, white and many others. I would highly recommend this Laminex colour. As 'olldroo' wrote above, the Diamond Gloss gives a harder finish, and I can honestly say that after 10 years, my benches are still going strong. They look as good now as they did when they were installed in 2005; my children were 4, 6 & 8 years old at the time and my benches have seen a lot of everyday child usage, as I don't live in a display home. Whatever colour you choose, if it is a Laminex colour, Laminex will happily send you a larger sample approx. 12.5cm x 12.5cm (5" x 5") of the colours you are interested in so that you can get a better idea of the colour and finish than what is shown online, in their catalogue or on their Laminex chips (no, I do not work for Laminex and never have). Hi. Just want to say that in my opinion matt white is a good choice for the top cabinetry as opposed to glossy. I've had both and much prefer matt as it does not show the finger prints. I believe it is also a more modern look. I think mine is not quite matt, but has a slight sheen. Love the idea of the darker contrast, I think it will look smashing. Best wishes. sydneymidge

If you are after an all black style kitchen I have several recomendations: 1. I recently used Caesarstones "Night sky" as the countertop complemented with Naval Sandblasted "Black Pearl" laminate for the joinery. It looked fantastic and was very sleek. I also incorporated matt black sink and tapwear to keep it clean and minimal and then the surrounding walls were lexicon half. Hopefully we will have photos of it soon to show you but the progress looks fantastic!
