The difference in benchtop brands?

Hope someone can shed some light for me. We have recently completed our ensuite Reno and used caeserstone in “Organic White” we are about to start our kitchen Reno but require approx 7metres in total of caeserstone. Problem is I am looking for a more veiny looking one but they are out of my price range. Can someone tell me what are the difference in brands of stone as I am led to believe they are pretty much the same except for the name and price. Thanks

Quartz by any major manufacturer is basically made in the same way using the basically the same raw materials and process. Caesarstone just happens to be the "COKE" of the stone world and the advertising budget to match.

Is it the "BEST" in our opinion there are better options, finishes and prices.

Some of the better brands in Australia would be Technistone, Silestone and Samsung for finish, durability, price and after sales service. Though Smartstone have some very nice marble look ranges now as well that look and feel just as good as the top brands.

Ikea, Bunnings where, if not still are using caesarstone brands of quartz. Though it does change around. like their fabricating companies

My sister used IKEA's benchtop material. It's wood with a stone like veneer. It was a lot lighter especially for thick slabs and less expensive and it still looks good 5 years on. You can't tell it apart from the solid stuff unless you have a big overhang and you look at the underneath. Worth a look, you have to be able to afford to eat after a renovation. I considered it for my bathroom but it seems to come in to its own for big jobs. I think they had a large vein format.

My carpenter organised the benches for our kitchen and I discovered there are several different names for virtually identical colours from various suppliers. You need to look at a sample (even online) and decide what you like. And yes, I don't think there's much difference in suppliers, from what I could discover. (And my splashbacks were even more fun, as I wanted "antique white" to match things - and discovered there were nine colours of antique white - all slightly different. I ended up handing the man a sample and saying, the one that matches that.)

Oh excellent, thank you, it looks lovely! I have been to many of the suppliers but QQ is too far away for me with a screaming baby in the car and they won't mail me samples! Once I choose a stone mason I will view them in person because I hear even with Quartz each slab can be a little different. I was thinking maybe Lexicon quarter...warmed up a bit...but I'm not sure. Thanks for the warning, I do have time on my side so I might go get some sample pots and see what actually looks ok with our lighting.

Unfortunately I don`t sorry I was in the middle of cleaning and never took another photo but there is a large difference. Yes this i buffing but its very fine so no scratching at all. Caesarstone would only recommend there cleaning product but I wanted to share that there is another product out there that works.

We did an IKEA kitchen in 2012 and the bench top looks great. Underneath it is stamped ESSA stone. I love it.

Bunnings also do several stone benchtops that are similar to Ceasarstone. I spoke to the rep (they had sales reps at a Kitchen Night) and she told me that her company sold Ceasarstone as well, but the Bunnings range was the same just cheaper.

Don't judge a benchtop material from an online photo. It is always best to get a sample. Some of the reconstituted stone benchtops have a cold, hard feeling that feels like stone, and others feel like plastic to the touch. While they may look similiar not all benchtops are the same.
