Benchtops choices clamshell or Nordic loft

I'm looking at either clamshell or Nordic loft on benches. kitchen colours are sublime teak, white and Matt black accents. I love clamshell but I was told clamshell can look a bit pink - anyone used either and have any adviCe. Floors are parana engineered oak. Thanks!

    Hi Melissa Padley,

    The pattern in the 'Clamshell' is stunning in a big slab, I haven't seen it throw a pink tone. The 'Shitake' (of the same pattern, more brown tones) however can throw pinks. The 'Clamshell' has more depth than the 'Nordic loft' pattern so would get my vote.

    If pricing comes into it the 'Nordic loft' is part of CaesarStone's standard range, 'Clamshell' is in the deluxe range making it slightly more expensive. This price does not reflect the quality of the product as they are both as good as the other, more that the deluxe range patterning is harder to achieve than the standard range. Something to keep in mind.

      Melissa, while I have not used either of those, just looking at them online, I have to agree the Clamshell does appear to throw a pink colour, and Nordic Loft does not. Did you see Georgian Bluffs? Also, have you looked at Smartstone or other brands to see if you can find a similar look to Clamshell?

      Thanks so much for your response, I really love the clamshell. Pricing of clamshell adds about $500 to the cost so not a huge difference.

      Thanks also Annb- I had not looked at smartstone before. Is it as durable as Caesar stone?

      Absolutely. It is a high quality engineered stone. There are many excellent brands; some just market their product more aggressively than others.

      Last house we had Caesarstone, current house has both it and Smartstone.
