I'm trying to choose the best size and shape basins for our vanity in our new ensuite. We will have two basins, so they can't be big, and while I want them to look gorgeous, I'm a fan of function over form in this case. Since it's ensuite, the basins will be for hand washing, tooth brushing and shaving. Our current bathroom has a basin with a few problems - the tap (water outlet) is too short and you have to get very close to the wall to wash your face or rinse your mouth. The inside is gently sloped away from the front of the counter and I find that toothpaste and shavings don't rinse out (possibly another function of the short tap and water not reaching the front of basin) and so i have to splash and wipe with my hand (yuk) or a cloth (nearly as yuk). Sooo ... advice from anyone on pros and cons of shapes and sizes and where the plug hole is located etc. Anything anyone has learnt from experience is appreciated - I don't want to make another mistake!
