Hi Catherine... are you able to advise what sort of space you intend to use & what the dimensions are? Is it study nook size or an actual room repurposed as an office? Can you let us know whether there are any doors or windows to be factored in? Do you require shelving/storage solutions for your paper supplies, printer cartridges, stationary etc?

Yes, the room is around 40 square metres and it is more rectangular in shape, but it's not too long. It's pretty spacious. It's basically an extra empty room in my house, so I am giving it a whole new purpose.
There is one door and opposite of the door are two windows, both 1.5 by 1.5 metres.

It would be nice to have shelves, since I have plenty of books and papers to store. I also need printers and devices, like that I one mentioned above. Also, I was planning on having a standing desk, if possible of course.

Hi Catherine, to help others make suggestions that will be suitable, would you be able to post a drawing of your room please - wall sizes & where the windows/doors are positioned? That way your space can be personalized for you.
I think feature walls can look really good in certain spaces... but I think if you like it, do it :) it can easily be repainted over, especially if you have concerns down the track of resale... do what you love & what makes you happy- it will make your office space a happy place that you’ll want to be in & will bring out the best in you & your work :)
I’ll be personally interested in responses about a good chair to save your back too... have you found any ergonomic chairs you like? I think your chair purchase will need to be done in store vs online so you can sit on a few & make sure they are a good fit for you & your spine, especially as you’ll be sitting in it for extended periods.
As for gadget recommendations, I’m as untech savvy as they come lol - again I’ll be following with interest :)

I think once you have determined your preferred room layout and how it will best suit your needs, then you'll be able to work out exactly where you want your gadgets and special chair to go :)

Aw that’s really nice to hear :) I’m humbled by your kindness Catherine. Thank you for saying those lovely things :) I meant to say too - fit out/decorate your space how you feel it... how you feel will bring out that gorgeous inner happy you have so that it translates well into your work :) if on occasion you have clients, consider decorating it according to your brand & how you wish to be perceived. A small sofa could be a worthy investment for those times you may have clients there... it will look professional as you will have had the foresight to consider them & the outlay is quite small really. And if you need time to change perspective from standing or sitting to brainstorm a new idea, lie down lol ;) incredible how my brain works when I’m on my feet all day - but if I lie down to try & sleep.... I’m flooded with ideas lol!
