best option is to prevent heat from entering the room, so consider external blinds (roller blinds made out of Sarlon shade cloth can help exclude sun and are see through), stick on glass reflective film, internal blinds that cover all the glass, external shade sails over the whole area including the glass roof and decking outside and also check the roof insulation and colour of the roofing and upgrade but you may need to use all of these suggestions and more to find the best combination and also be aware of time of day and direction of the sun and keep the shade in place to suit ...(disappointing that the air con suppliers didn't suggest some options which will also help the air con be more efficient)
The aim is to keep the heat outside. External (not internal) blinds and/or awnings. It depends on which direction the windows are facing. A verandas or extended eves could also help. Or a pergola with a deciduous vine like s grape vine that will block the sun in summer but allow it in during the winter, when you want it. The glass roof section is tricky. Some sort of external shading or removing the glass and permanently roofing it. And insulation of roof and walls.
As you've probably figured out, overheating in buildings is cause by solar gain - ie, direct radiation from the sun coming in through the windows.
There's a few options to reduce that. You can get adhesive tint film that you can put on the windows. That will reduce the solar gain slightly.
Most likely, the glass roof is where much of the sun is coming in. A retractable awning or shade sail might do the trick by reducing the amount of direct sun coming in. The advantage of this options is you could remove the awning during winter when you're not getting so much sun.
You might also look at some kind of louvres or horizontal slats on the outside to create some shading, which would reduce the amount of sun coming in.
Basically, you want to put something in place to block direct sunlight while still allowing natural light and your view to outside.
