4 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom, or 3 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms (ensuite)?
Comments (15)We're building 4x3.5 Two with ensuite and the others with a jack and Jill. Life has changed unfortunately and now everyone in the household works, kids stay at home longer and ageing parents sometimes move in for care. At the moment we have a 3 x 1 and really the only thing we really want for is a second toilet, which growing up we had because we had the one out the back with the red backs....See MoreIxl 3 in 1 vs Martec 3 in 1 bathroom heater fan lights?
Comments (4)Cathy They are really a compromise, heater/fan/light. With your new home, I know they are added costs. 1. Underfloor heating ( no heated towel rails required ) 2..Exhaust fan to the exterior. 3. LED lights, on 3 / 4 split switches...See MoreCan we configure this small bathroom space - 1.8 metres x 2.1 metres.
Comments (11)depends on location of door and windows, choice of suitable fixtures, thickness of wall coverings and cooperation of your tradespeople but you need to decide what's most important for your lifestyle ie do you want a regular soak in a big bath or do you need a more generous handbasin with counter space and storage and, despite some toilets being quite narrow, we need to allow enough elbow and knee space around the toilet...all the sizes shown are based on readily available fixtures advertised on line and there's probably plenty of other suitable choices but keep in mind that there's probably not enough space for the necessary sloped floor for a walk in shower so i've used a shower cubicle with included door while the bathtubs, with over bath or handheld showers would probably need a glass screen for stand up showers ..some ideas to consider but you should measure out the walking distances between fixtures to see how much standing and drying space is available...See Morekitchen cabinet hight(2.1) for house with 2.7 celling
Comments (15)Hi Renata, from a Kitchen designers perspective it is not just about access or reach. Foshan Yubang is correct and it all depends on the style of your kitchen and the end look that you are after. Door and window heights in most basic spec homes are a standard 2100mm high and the old thinking was to pick up this 2100mm room line with your tall kitchen cabinets but things have changed. If you are building a modern / contemporary home with 2700mm high ceilings and using large tall glass windows and tall sliding glass doors then a modern style 2100mm high kitchen will look quite squat, even with a standard style bulkhead. Modern Style Kitchen trends also tend to have single line overheads (not stepped) sitting above 700mm high splashbacks and so with 2100mm high cabinets this makes the overheads only around 480mm high and again making the kitchen look squat compared to going all the way up to the ceiling and finishing with a shadow mould and having larger overheads or even just going up to 2400mm high which you then have around 780mm high overheads that again makes your kitchen look better balanced in a tall room. A good example of this is actually Dreamers image above where this kitchen is modern in style, has around 700mm high splashbacks around 2400mm high tall cabinetry (not 2100mm) with around 750mm - 780mm high overheads and a stepped out bulkhead that is around 200mm high (not 600mm high) and square set to the ceiling. It all depends on the style of your kitchen and how you want it to look, perhaps start looking at lots of kitchen photos to pin down how you want your kitchen to look and then decide from there. I would suggest though that if you are lucky enough to have the extra height, then to use it. Hope this helps, Malcolm...See Moretracey_reeves49
