After much consideration of your photo, I really think you have it right! The gold mirror matches the gold towel rail ! All your other elements, i.e. the plant and stand, match perfectly with and enhance the room's overall look. I think the suggestion of painting the wall behind the mirror, is an excellent one, in a shade of green which would tie in with the tiles on the floor and the plant. You have the ceiling height to handle it. I wouldn't be shy with a dark emerald green to complement the tiles, I think the gold would then really shine and blend with the gold hand rail. Photocopy the pic of the room and using a texta, colour in the wall and see what you think before committing. Be brave. Congrats on a beautiful room! It might be worth looking further into breeze / besser blocks. This company in Melbourne - http://www.breezeblocks.com.au/ or this one in Sydney - http://www.besserblockcentre.com.au/bellevue_hill_blocks.html create custom blocks. The pool safety requirements have certain dimensions to follow, so maybe you can have your dream feature wall while still abiding by the regulations. For example you could have blocks with a vertical or other pattern that did not allow for foot or hand holds. For example:

Would you be able to build a carport in front of 1 or both garages, would definately keep both drive ways. Are you just considering making one of the garages a play room by retaining the door etc. For me I would be having the family room for the kids keeping the mess to the rear of the house as previously mentioned the garage could become another bed room or parents retreat etc but it's what works for you you can make the kids room in the garage or the family. Opening up the lounge dining kitchen and using the wasted passage is a great idea, might need support beam or post. keeping kitchen it the same position would save you quite a bit of money. My idea for the kids (no ages) is the family room/garage becomes theirs with a large TV mounted a bit higher up on the wall so that all the kids can sit on bean bags and everyone can see the screen. The bean bags are also great for individual playing of ipods and even make extra beds, very comfortable. If you use the garage some artificial grass could work. I would also paint a long black board along one or two of the walls with a ledge for chalks. I think siriuskey's latest plan is better, as it extends length of double shower which resolves the issue of chute/cupboard combo door, and allows for a wider door into master bedroom. A wider door will be a more dramatic entrance to this large suite, so worth seriously considering. The plan does eliminate the linen cupboard; however. Personally, I would not want to store my bed linens in a bathroom simply because of moisture/steam. The generously sized walk-in robe has more than enough space for bed linens to be stored. That's where I stored mine in our last home. It was very convenient and only a few steps from shelf to bed. I stored all other linens in the wardrobe of upstairs spare bedroom, close to the kids' rooms. Re the double shower - I mentioned previously a 1.8m length is sufficient IF you have a glass sliding door that slides alongside track like a barn-style door. Hubby & I did regret not thinking about how awkward a hinged/pivot door would be. Current dbl shower is 2.2m and has the sliding door I described. We didn't request a longer shower, but the architect drew it up that way. Given my choice, I'd always go with bigger.
