Thanks for the comment DD. As it is an apartment in a high rise, there was no choice but to match the existing frame colour of the other levels. We had to ensure that the look remained the same throughout the apartment in order to comply with both the Local Council and obtain Body Corporate approval. As an aside, it even got down to the colour (tint) of the glass and was also quite a technical challenge to winch up pre-formed double glazed windows and full height sliding doors on the outside of some 13 storeys where no lifting facilities existed.

We we are in the process of extending our home and the hardwood floorboards are being laid prior to kitchen installation and second fix carpentry. Then sanded and polished after in case of slight dents or scratches left by tradeies.

Sadly no cabinet maker confirmed the ends are structural to the cabinetry and must on the slab as it would cause a floated floor to buckle. We are now rethinking flooring. I love the laminate product we want to use but have been told you cannot glue/adhere laminate to a slab. Happy to be corrected if this is not the case.
