I'm not an expert, but here's what I see. Move the cabinet to the left a bit to leave a wider opening through that slanted walkway. Then bring the lamp out a bit and pick a pretty shade, any that you have picked should work out. The pictures one the wall are too small and they are a little awkwardly hung. Either one large art piece, family photo, or mirror, or a grouping that relate. Clear the top of the cabinet. One larger family picture, one tall thing like a vase, and one smaller shiny thing.

Hi Rachael and rhjaai Regarding batch numbers................I have not heard that one before, wondering who advised you of that, and which product. Quickstep, Godfrey Hirst, and other quality manufacturers do not have batches, as such, that require matching. You can replace a plank with another batch and it will make no difference. If you select Stories, then Interior Design, then Decorating, and then type ‘how to decorate a console table,’ in the window, the article should pop up. I think you will find it very helpful.

I would vote for the top example here. Itr gives an earthy tone to the room and yet is still bright and wont show every piece of dust or food.
