Tile and other bathroom suggestions please.
Comments (22)I have done lots of pondering and lots of wandering. Wearing out shoe leather looking at tiles, hopping in baths, sitting on toilets. I think I have found my tiles. It's funny to think I started off wanting carrara (or a version/copy thereof), then went to black and white, and now these. The colour really does vary depending on the angle and light. These photos were taken with my ipad, so not true to colour. They are an ash tone and throw grey, off white or a bone colour depending on lighting and the angle. I think they say "classic and elegant like a little black dress, a string of pearls and diamond studs." I hope they don't actually say, "i've turned into my mother and I'm playing it safe." I figure I can go wild with towels. Question is should I lay them horizontally or vertically? The feature tile will go up the side of my wall on top of the bath and be directly opposite as you walk in the door. I wonder if i should use the floor tile or the festure tile on the side of the bath? I am thinking a black tap on the vanity (not necessarily this tap), but chrome elsewhere? The U.K. Has a version of the showerhead with a black rim, if I could be guaranteed it would fit and work the same here I would be tempted to buy it. Black or chrome accessories (towel rails, soap holder etc)? All suggestions, viewpoints etc welcome....See MoreSmall bathroom mirror suggestions
Comments (15)Not a terrible idea at all. I placed two mirrors across each other in our small bathroom. The mirrors are not of the same width but are the same design and at the same height to maintain simplicity. One narrow mirror above the basin, same width as the basin and tall enough so that our tallest family member at 2m can see their face. The WC also sits next to the basin but I did not want to extend the mirror from the basin. The wall space above the WC allowed for decorative items, eg artwork; narrow display shelf to add interest and texture. Directly opposite the basin and WC is a wide cabinet, and a large mirror to cover that width of cabinet and at the same height as the basin mirror. This mirror also reflects the artwork above the WC. It reflects so much more light and creates a wonderful feeling of space....See MoreFamily bathroom colour suggestions?
Comments (8)Hello empressct Good start with your bathroom; strong natural colours for a base. Now the styling!! I agree with the idea of white shutters at the window. You can control the amount of light you require during the day. Cane baskets are very beachy, as are plants in white pots. Maybe a hanging basket in the corner near the window. If you can, have a new timber frame made for the mirror that would add warmth to the room. Fluffy white towels will add luxury - maybe not for the kids!! Comments (4)As a suggestion, could put a free standing bath where the toilet is located. Then shower and toilet behind a wall with vanity in front... In the ensuite, put the vanity where the shower is and have a walk in shower. Howeer, you may need to relocate door....See Moreoklouise
