Hi I really like the grey. It is on-trend, neutral and would allow the painting to 'pop.' Perhaps if the baskets were white the whole picture would hold together better. All of the photoshopped colours you have chosen are cool/blue toned and the baskets are warm/yellow toned. I think that is what is confusing you. Also the vase seems too tall for that setting. Try a green plant in a shallow, flat white pot. Enjoy.

I would just LOVE a space like this in my home, for I would agree with dohraime above and keep the flow and view into your lounge space free-flowing. One can never have too many views to gaze at! I would make the space say "library" and: - keep the wall unit and include plenty of books - keep the gorgeous floor lamp - add 2 small lightish coloured, plain or patterned comfy chairs and a small coffee table underneath the stairs - add a complimentary console table on the wall opposite the stairs - add a large stylish mirror over the console table to bounce light around the fairly dark space - add a generously sized, patterned rug with some lightish colours in it, round or oblong, whichever you prefer. If the comfy chairs are patterned, ensure the rug coordinates with them Oh .... And a statement pendant ceiling light as well even though you have down lights already good luck!

Hi, If unable to source the size table needed you could try adding a floating shelf in glass or timber , love how these integrate a mirror for a really stylish look.

My attitude is that artwork is artwork . I don't mean that in a bad way , and I love art , and that piece is really nice . But it isn't part of the table , it isn't intended to be . Move it 40cm higher and 80cm or whatever to the right . Basically , don't make it look part of anything else , and don't make it look 'formal' . Then the table you can do what you like with -- it is a table , it now isn't part of an art installation !
