Love the choice of kitchen - shaker style! I have that style myself and I love it. An interior designer definitely will be able to help you with design and configuration, colour scheme etc. Just letting you know, we had to put 5 structural beams in our ceiling for support and the cost blew us away, it is a very expensive exercise. You'll need an engineer to draw these up. Your draftsman will know of an engineer. Also, as a rule you have to allow for budget blowout. Everyone who has ever done a renovation will tell you. Once you start on the journey, you're emotionally involved and you want it all to be right, and you always add on more changes as you go along. It might be worth pricing things from your kitchen to floorboards to fixtures and fittings, ovens, fridges, lighting choices etc and then draw up your own costings. Builders generally don't do costings, they allow a budget for certain things, like $5 a handle, but then if you choose a $7 handle, then you get hit with a bill at the end of the job with all the extra costs. Make sure you know what the builder has allowed for when it comes to the kitchen, fixtures and fittings etc. I also agree with the others, the oven is too tight in that spot. I would swap that with the sink and put the sink in the island. Hope this is helpful. Good luck with it all, it's very exciting!

The dining room is only 3.3 x 3, you do not have room for a table and lounge chairs plus a walkway to outside. Again, the family room is only 3.1 metres wide. This is not enough room for a dining suite and a lounge to be a comfortable space, since again it is a thoroughfare to the terrace. Mark the size of your furniture on the floors with masking tape. Allowing for areas to pull out chairs and comfortably walk around the table, and to outside. The family room could have a long eight seater dining table up towards the kitchen, and then maybe, two single lounge chairs in the space with all the sliding doors.

Love the slate floor. You could layer the rugs if you need to keep that particular rug, Frame the t.v, and have a photo gallery near it floating into the dining area. What art do you like? because it seems you like sunflowers. your current art pieces are to small unless you group them (tbh I only saw 2) Have bigger pieces, you can find some art online, go into a program like canva and adjust the hues to match your colour theme in the room. I personally like painted art because I like touching it. Im one of those annoying people who see texture and touch it...repeatedly. Where your hallway table is I would have a little bookcase or shelving to put your knick knacks in so they are center stage and not on the floor or everywhere. I noticed you have a whole lot of small things randomely dispersed. Collate and cull your collections. The pic is just an example of height and leg height and its width, its still small and wont get in the way but big enough to put your things in. Re stain or paint your barstools to match something in the room. Clear off the buffett unit and have 1 long shallow centrepiece or 3 tall items at staggered heights low and long Tall and staggered heights, again just examples which are easy enough to make or find. Also instead of the table cloth on the table you could use a table runner and placemats and if necessary put the table cloth on when you go to eat and then remove. I think the table might be pretty, its hard to tell under the table cloth. Also you could put a vase of flowers on the table or a plant if cut flowers arent your thing. Also maybe rehome the nesting tables as the chairs swallow them up, you need something a bit more substantial as the nesting tables look beautiful but its hard to tell when its swallowed up like that. Really love your furniture pieces, they dont look like a matchy matchy and they look well loved and they look like real wood.

I woke up this morning and the advice feed me on my iPad was all American ( gosh they get loads of replies to their feeds). My phone was still in Aust. Same profile. Logged in and out swapped out the country in my Houzz profile and back again no change . This afternoon I went to the iPad settings and found there is a country setting there that had switched to USA. All good now. I assume an update switched it. Probably explains the odd os posters we get in the Aust/NZ site
