I am getting mixed messages about what material to use for my kitchen cupboards. My cabinet maker suggests vinyl wrap and says they won’t peel. Im heading a different story. What should I do?
We were told the opposite by our cabinet maker. He said the vinyl wrap is not the best in Qld humidity. I've seen vinyl wrap peeling in new display homes, obviously wasn't done properly, but I wouldn't take the chance.
Hi Robb, White Gloss two-pack is a much harder finish than Vinyl Thermoform and so it is actually more resistant to abrasion than Gloss Vinyl. Another advantage of Gloss Two-Pack is that if you do accidently scratch it, then it can be repaired by buffing it back; much the same as you cut and polish car duco. Likewise any accidental chip damage can also be invisibly repaired. Two-Pack is also far more Heat and water resistant and so provides much better protection to areas around Dishwashers (from water splash and steam) and to overhead cabinets around Kettles, Cooktops and panels next to Ovens when heat escapes when a door is opened. What Jodie asys above is also correct. Hope this information helps; regards Malcolm
