The space looks a bit cold & clinical at the moment. Add sheer curtains to the window from ceiling to floor this wall Add some drama and also help to soften the look. I don't think the corrugated iron works use timber instead . A rug will better define the space perhaps with pops of colour like yellow , orange or red this will add some warmth. Prints on the wall , large pot plants side tables and floor lamps . In the billiard area it would look good to add a pendant lamp over the table you can buy ones specifically for billiard tables . More pops of colour also a couple of occasional chairs . You could also add more timber here to give more ambiance. Happy decorating .

Hi Marta, Nice place you've got there :) First of all, it would help us to help you if you give us some ideas on what type of style interests you - Scandi, traditional, modern, tropical or industrial etc. Post some photos of interior you that you like. Also your lifestyle will be a major factor. e.g do you have kids, dog, busy life style, likes to entertain etc. In my opinion, the rug is too small & the couch is over-sized yet small - it would look nice stretched out, if that makes sense. If you are not looking to replace the couch, move the futon to one of the ends of the couch instead of opposing it to open up the space & create elongated look. But the rug definitely need to go. Go for something big to compensate the size of the couch & highlight the nice large space you've got there. Also, I would not place my couch blocking a window - move it away so you can actually enjoy the view and also so sections of your couch doesn't fade by being exposed to sunlight. In terms of injecting colour, i wouldn't go crazy buying too many colourful furnitures - generally colours are very easy to introduce once you have nice key pieces that go together and show your personality. Focus on the big pieces and the arrangements and then move on to smaller/ decorative items. In your kitchen, I think little bit softness & curve could be introduced as it is very linear and angular, so maybe this type of bar stool?

I agree...maybe buy or make a couple of big floor cushions which are great for the baby and toddler years, and work with the couch you have for now? you could use black and white ones and tie them into similar coloured throw cushions on the couch.

Hi All, It sounds like tumeric and grease are the worst culprits for staining. We are looking to put the Cloudburst in our kitchen as our island and backsplash, but I'm very nervous. I love to cook and host. I also LOVE the look of this stone and would like to make it work if we can. Are there any bakers on this thread that have experience with these countertops? If you are rolling out dough or baking with greasy dough, how has that experience been? What if you get butter/oil on it? Any tips? Do you cover the counter before doing your baking etc.? I imagine beet juice would also be a nightmare?
