Can I just check you are referring to the cupboards in the image above or the kitchen?

The cupboards in the image above are bespoke, designed by S+T for the space and built on-site by our joiners.

Let me know if you require details of the kitchen manufacturer.

I meant to say earlier.. I LOVE what you're doing with this house! There may be a few products of interest in this [article[(https://www.houzz.com.au/magazine/12-hot-kitchen-trends-set-to-sizzle-in-2016-stsetivw-vs~53600916). (Namely, Neolith and textured laminex.) What dimension are the drawer fronts? I don't know how practical tile would be but there are such thin ones on the market now and large format also. So possibly could one tile for entire drawer front??? This is example of a vinyl wallpaper that looks like grass cloth. My hesitation with something like this is if overly textured, it will become a grease trap. Example of burlap between glass.

Painting over cabinet doors can be tricky, depending on what material you're painting over. An easier alternative is just to replace the doors and drawers, and you can do this very cost-effectively by going for a plain melamine colour like this: If you have open cabinets instead of open shelves, it helps to keep the dust off but they still look great. Or you could go for wall cabinets either side like this:

I also think matte black handles will work well. They are simple and elegant and won't reflect light as the S/S ones do. If and when you add a pendant light (down the track), I think your focus on the handles will diminish. It's possible a suspended ceiling will complicate the look of your kitchen. What is the height of your ceilings? And a suspended ceiling would lower the height to what? Painting the ceiling sounds like an alternative and would certainly add interest. Your kitchen IS beautiful as is. Pls keep us posted!

Hi Diane,

No problem at all! The kitchen was by a Danish company, selected by the client, we don't actually have the details anymore. However, Poliform makes something very similar.
