our obsession with antibacterial products apparently is creating bacteria which are resistant to antibiotics. They should be banned if the government could take any decisive action (not talking about general disinfectant here, just every surface spray for the kitchen and hand washing that also "needs" antibacterial)......

Hi Shantell, an interior designer friend in Sydney does use Axolotyl especially for difficult spaces when sprayed metal is required and also on statues. There is a company here in Adelaide I suggested to a client to spray her front door to look like metal, which she loved. I think the name was Adelaide Metal Finishes (I'll try to find it) as they are quite experimental and love a challenge. The other company I love to use where I can is That Metal Company, based in Bowral NSW (www.thatmetalcompany.com.au). They are the exclusive distributors of over 130 speciality metal laminates - 100% metal but very thin so they can be used as a laminate - all vertical and most horizontal surfaces. I'll be more expansive -- you want to be sympathetic to your deck and your house and even the garden . Ideally , we'd want a few pics of your house and deck and where it is going . If your house is modern and mainly rendered , but with charcoal windows and roof , and a cedar insert near the front door , and a couple of schist columns , then a full stainless cabinet may look totally out of place -- a rendered concrete unit , with stainless bbq but maybe cedar slats as a benchtop either end , and charcoal handles , will tie in with everything . Marine ply generally has a good grain and stains well , so might be a good budget choice , but if you have a traditional 60's weatherboard house , it may look out of place , although something simple like painting it the same as your house , or even matching the colour of your window sills or doors may be all that is needed . In modern words -- its complicated !
