I see a lovely window seat there and then you can create softness in lovely loose covers as in attached photo. Add a special rug...and that natural light is beautiful playing on those walls. You have an enviable space there! All the best!

I have an iron pot holder hanging from the ceiling, I don't hang my pots because they don't have holes in the handles and are way too expensive to drill into. I hang baskets and utensils, plus a few vintage copper pieces like jugs I sometimes use for flowers, and a vintage copper colander. I use the baskets to harvest produce and flowers from the garden. I have a vintage kitchen with not many drawers, have had to be creative about utensil storage.

another idea if you had a plain pelmet that was within the alcove that came from the bottom of the picture rail to the top of the window and flush with the walls on both sides painted the same as the wall colour., you could then run your black curtain rod across the alcove pelmet which would look like the wall. When I had my Ferderation House we painted the bedroom walls up to and including the picture rail in the same colour. The wall above the picture rail and the ceiling were painted flat white, along with skirting boards, an old painter told me about this and it looks brilliant. A couple more photo's for you with different looks This is similar to what I have tried to explain by running a plain pelmet across the whole alcove and then the black rod running from either side outside the alcove with the curtains against the outer wall, the pelmet would look like part of the wall.

I'm not a huge fan of the door. I'm thinking I'd prefer a timber door with glass panels of some description. Our two current couches are light grey but I'd like to replace them with a blue corner one in the near future. TV unit and bookshelf on the back wall are white. The walls in the room will be Dulux White Exchange Half and the skirting boards/trim will be Dulux Snowy Mountains Quarter. I'm unsure about having a medium-dark grey feature wall (either paint or textured wallpaper) for tv unit and tv to be wall mounted on - this is the wall to the left of the shelving in the image. Floorboards will be a bit lighter and more natural in tone - not as orangey as pictured.
