Thanks. I love my kitchen........have never seen one which works as well as this one. The cutlery and crockery is opposite the dishwasher. Three of us can cook at the same time without getting in each other's way. The pantry part is lovely and very spacious. It took me 17 years of saving, planning, sourcing to get it but I wouldn't change a thing.

Hi We have just created a Hamptons style kitchen ALL IN WHITE in an extension/restoration of a 100 year old home. It looks stunning. The cabinetry is all in shaker profile white semi gloss with Essa Stone 80mm bench tops and square posts at the corners. You don't need to have a different colour bench in order to do a Hamptons look... however the style needs to be complemented with the other items around it eg floor colour/style. Our floor is blackbutt floorboards stained with black japon (dark chocolate but light enough to see the grain) with semi gloss polyurethane. The white on it works very well. If you search for Hamptons kitchens you will find plenty in all white.

Go with your gut Tracy..... it is a big investment but I have found that if it makes you smile every time you walk into your kitchen you'll never regret it!!!! I've recently moved into a smaller downsized home with my 3rd black kitchen, with drawers, no cupboards, except for the pantry which we use as the crockery and wine glasses stash. Mine is matt but no handles = no hip bangers! I chose to use snow white stone bench tops, the walls are painted natural white while the floors are pale oak hybrid vinyl.

Hi Loren, I agree with quite a few of the other comments that have been made and also note that, to your benefit, you have a lot of space for a kitchen but it could be better utilized. A scullery should be an extension of the kitchen so you can use it properly in association with the kitchen and not necessarily a spatially removed second kitchen. In your current arrangement in your desire to keep the mess out of the kitchen, you have allowed a direct sight line from the living to the scullery. The aim is to screen this from the entertaining spaces. You also don't want the space in the kitchen to be too big or you will be walking large distances to do simple tasks. I have a suggested layout below that can be modified to allow as much or as little space in the kitchen- between the benches and still keeps the sink out of sight but easily accessible for use. Ideally the space between benches should only be between 1200mm and 1500mm but if you want it more spacious, you can. It is ideal to be able to reach both benches if you can. There is one new wall in front of the sink that screens it from both the dining and living but it still feels a part of the kitchen. No need for two sinks and all the mess can be kept in that corner. You could if you like, incorporate a sliding door to close off the space which would probably be open 90% of the time but still achieve the clean look when guests are around. You still have access from the garage for groceries. My only concern with this is that the fridge/freezer is in the middle of the kitchen which means everyone that wants something from it will be in the kitchen. If the space is big enough, this shouldn't be a problem. Does the cooktop fit between the two windows? Good luck.
