Advice for entry foyer
Comments (2)Pics would be nice! In the meantime if you haven't gotten your chandelier, check out some of our beautiful glass chandeliers....See MoreFoyer/Entry: need help finishing!
Comments (13)I agree with the other comments the entry would look much nicer without the artificial flowers and pots. I would add a console table with mirror above as they can be both beautiful and useful. The table could be a mix of iron and wood and the mirror framed in iron which would be in keeping with your Tuscan theme. On the table I would place a small bowl or box for keys (house and car) and a vase were you can display perfumed flowers like lilies which will naturally perfume your entry (the also last a good 2-3 weeks and aren't that expensive. If not possible to have fresh flowers all the time then a glass vase filled with lemons, limes or oranges or even some branches with leaves still on will suit your Tuscan style. A chandelier would be lovely and I would suggest a rustic carriage black iron style which would tie in with the border tiles on the floor. I don't think you need an area rug as the tiles already have a border. I love a black front door but I don't think the inside of the door needs to be black so I would leave it white. On the wall opposite the front door I would place a collection of four, six or eight (depending on frame size) pictures of Tuscany in black frames with white matt. It is a lovely entry and it should be inviting and give guests a place to check their appearance before they enter your home. Hope you find these suggestions helpful....See MoreHelp modernisng entry foyer
Comments (1)Its more that flooring that is catching my eye! It might be a little late, but I've added a couple of images to give you an idea on moving forward. Bricks can be a great feature wall or a great base to work off....See MoreEntrance ideas needed, please!
Comments (9)I love Julie's industrial table ideas -- my worry though is whether they fit with the fairly 'structured' front door ? Having said that , if you did a table top in the the same style and colour as the door , it would look too corporate . So just me personally -- I'd go for a black 'rough' table top and black industrial legs ( steel or wooden ) , and maybe a brass vase , or even one glazed in a primary colour to match the rest that I'll add ! Instead of mirrors , I'd get a large ( say 1.5mtr wide and 1.2mtr tall ) abstract or similar picture in colours that match whatever else you can see ( presumably the lounge area ? ) , and if there isn't much colour , add some -- maybe some red and yellow and orange cushions and a smaller abstract pic ; or blue and green and teal ; or brown and grey and charcoal if you want to be more subdued . Just me . And as bigreader says -- a rug in the predominant clour used too -- in fact , maybe a small rug 1mtr x 1mtr or similar , but a lot larger 3mtr x 4mtr in the lounge or family or dining or whatever you can see upon entering . just some thoughts . . . . . . . . ....See Moredreamer
