POLL: Where do you have dinner?
Comments (22)Having been raised in an era when TV was invented we ended up eating in front of it with dinner on lap. When I had my own family the rule was made that we ate at dining table no TV on, because that's how the Brady Bunch, My three sons, Little House on the Praire all did it. And we've done that ever since, in summer on patio and winter inside, but we all sit down together. I'm lucky out jobs and lives enable this to happen....See MorePOLL: How often do you redecorate in your home?
Comments (25)I love to change soft furnishings and some decorative items in our family room and master bedroom for summer/winter. In summer I have a lot of white/sand/soft blues with a beachy theme: blue glass, seashells - light and bright. Winter brings out the reds/orange/fuchsias etc. Some of the wall artwork is also changed. I just change the cushion covers, and things like bed linen/bedspread etc. Also the wall decoration behind the bed to tone with the new theme. I don't go out and buy new stuff as I find this method very refreshing ... and it seems 'new' each season! I should add that I have neutral backgrounds and furnishings so that I can do this easily. Even greenery and different floral arrangements enhance the respective themes....See MorePOLL: Which space is the most overlooked in your home?
Comments (14)Entry. Sometimes it's a front porch or in our case a mudroom... an area immediately behind the front door but before the bigger reveal into the lounge. In fact it's the whole journey from when we step out of a car, whether that be as a guest or the resident and make our way along a pathway, and in our case up steps onto a front deck and then through the front door into the entrance/mudroom....See MorePOLL: How do you most use your mobile device/tablet in the kitchen?
Comments (10)I will use my phone in the kitchen if I receive a call/text while there. But otherwise, no. And I avoid using my tablet in the kitchen: water, oils and what-have-you simply don't go well with technology. Very occasionally I will use my tablet to consult a recipe. But I prefer my recipes on paper out so I can attach them to a handy surface (fridge door, stovetop extractor fan) for easy reference while cooking. I don't "hang out" in my kitchen (it's a food preparation room, not the eating/dining area) so there's no other reason to be in there using a tablet....See Morebeachplace
