This one need a sofa specialist. And it's your lucky day. I like to think of myself as one as I spend soo much time on my own sofa. I think you are unlikely to fall through unless your sofa is poorly constructed (thin wood frame) or the seats are very wide with no central support. What kind of design is it inside? Foam on a wooden frame or straps? Also, do you know the make (brand)?

Oh excellent, thank you, it looks lovely! I have been to many of the suppliers but QQ is too far away for me with a screaming baby in the car and they won't mail me samples! Once I choose a stone mason I will view them in person because I hear even with Quartz each slab can be a little different. I was thinking maybe Lexicon quarter...warmed up a bit...but I'm not sure. Thanks for the warning, I do have time on my side so I might go get some sample pots and see what actually looks ok with our lighting.

annb1997 It is a Lafer, a very good brand, but expensive. I am going to look at a 2nd-hand one in a few days, half the price, hardly used and it is a lifter. Only thing is, it is cream. Will have to see if it goes with the sofa. It looks white in the photo. I was wondering if it would look OK in place of the sofa on the right. The lever you mentioned extends the footrest right out. There is another one on the right for the incline. The one I sat in is called New Thor and it seems to be identical to the Lifter. It is lovely and comfortable. Thanks for your advice, all of which I am following. You might also like to know that I have been recommended to walk in water, and that has helped. I am over the worst of it, having had a fractured vertebra, which has been fixed. I wish I had the chair then.

These are 2 designs of modular sofas from Berkowitz I've been considering. Any other suggestions? What about Fanuli - anyone had an experience with this brand?
