Hi there, Many thanks for your positive comment. As a rule leave at least 1 meter between the kitchen island and the rest of the kitchen. If I have space I like to leave 1.2m/1.4m and at a push I will reduce this to 0.9m. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all those comments. It would be nice to replace everything but it was done in stages and some bits cost a bit. Taking shape piecemeal with out a whole perspective resulted in the dilemma now. I would hate to lose the stone bench top and the tiles laid recently to match it. The rest is negotiable so I really aim to tie it together. No one is tending to sit in the kitchen they rather sit in the living room. And yes I need better shelf space and spot for microwave and I did hope to get the fridge next to the door beside the wall return but I would need a thinner fridge. I had hoped to remove that door altogether and use the bi fold doors in the living room as an exit but they may not be ideal for that. So my main aim was to tie together the bench top and floor with colour and maybe some modifications to the upper cabinets?? The back door is actually and off white.

Yes I agree not to paint or add an faux type treatments as over time they will deteriorate and the bathroom will look tacky. My suggestion would be to hang two large rectangular framed photos. Use a light gold colour for the frame and almost silver looking one but you can just see the gold. Keep the framed photos light and classical, not to busy. On the vanity add a tray the same colour as the photo framed or with a mirrored look. Use white fluffy towels and a Scandinavian style light colour timber towel rack. I love wallpaper as a feature wall , I love most of what you did . We are all different -- personally , I'm not fussed on the powder blue in the kitchen ( but I aren't a fan of all white either ! ) -- I understand the beach reference of the blue , but I would have gone more black and white , maybe with darker sparkly blue and crisp white subway tiles ; or maybe warm natural wooden cupboard doors ? Conversely , the bathroom with the blue I love -- spot on ! My only other personal thing , and this comes back to wallpaper , I would have done a wallpaper feature wall 'around' the plantation blind on that lounge wall , in a different but complementary wallpaper to the dining area one . Just my personal take , and taste .
