The client brief for the redecoration of this master bedroom was to refresh the furnishings and decor and incorporate a sitting area opposite the bedroom window, which has views to the park. The homeowner wanted the option of occasionally retreating to this room and resting and reading in a recliner while enjoying the view.

Before: The master bedroom decor was dated and didn't offer a sitting area. The colours lacked contrast and the decor some excitement. The colour of the walls could not be changed and the carpet, the bed, the side tables and the wall decoration was to stay.

After: A large artwork of gently sweeping motions, contrasting soft tones and textures was the first item I created for this room. It played an essential role in determining the colour scheme, creating a delicate contrast on the wall, a point of interest, and a delightful focal point that connects the sleeping and the sitting area.

The textures and colours of the manchester are not only a reflection of the artwork but also adds that feeling of soft luxury to the room. The sitting area received a base of a round rug and a beautiful swiveling recliner upholstered in a pale blue fabric for the owner to enjoy the views of the park.
