Yeah...ended up going with door number 1 :) Glass is covered up still with green tape cause the painters r painting walls atm, so this is it so far........

thanks yes I have they have a timber frame that surrounds there door, so on the inside when the door is closed you see the timber frame which I didn't like. I have had Stegbar come out.

All three doors are good, just depends on what they are opening into/onto- hinged doors can give a bigger opening with no stepover, sliders are great if sill is level with the floor but can be quite hard to keep clean (the sills) and pivot doors can give a great size opening but take up quite a lot of space swinging open- so it comes down to personal preference as per every decision in building/renovating

Starting with the door -- you want to make a statement , BUT a double door doesn't in a house IMO -- better suited to shops and offices . A quick note there though -- I would have thought you have an L shaped 'lip' up the height of each door -- then catches top and bottom on the one that is primarily closed . I have used aluminium on several commercial projects , but also some timber ones -- a simple rubber strip seals the gaps ( the same trick works top and bottom too . So I'd go for the flashest , widest single solid timber door , as ornate as you want , with glass ( probably with frosted designs ) in timber frames . But I'd also echo Kates wider observations -- it looks a mix of styles and materials , and while its hard to tell from schematics , it looks like an uppermarket design , but with some basic features and materials too -- a conflict there ? I'll use the columns as an example -- not only do they look plain ( stacked stone would look great IMO ) but you say about making one smaller and moving it closer to the garage/driveway -- so it will be mismatched , non-symetrical , but also more likely to knock on car doors or even be hit by someone . I don't want to offend , and you don't want to be all style and no substance , ( in fact , I may have misread the design ) but I'd sooner borrow $20k more and do the facade to a higher standard of finish than what APPEARS the case here .
