If you want the wall and floor tiles to be the hero in your bathroom I recommend you keep the vanity very simple. The white cabinet you have will be least obtrusive with a 'white' top. I love the elegance of stone and man-made stone is generally more durable. Check out Caesarstone Organic White or Frosty Carina. Although Frosty Carina has more pattern than Organic White, it's quite discrete so shouldn't compete with pattern on the tiles. If the tiles are charcoal or a dark brown/grey then either should work. Love to see a photograph when it's finished, whatever you decide.

Hi I just thought I would leave a comment about the visibility of joins in reconstituted stone such as Caesarstone tops on islands longer than 3 metres. From a patern point of view; by selecting a style that has a fine grain certainly helps with reducing the visibility of a join. As for the join itself, the technology and tooling used to make such joints has come a long way in the last 10 years; therefore if you use a Kitchen Manufacturer who uses up-to-date stone fabrication methods, then such joins can be next to near invisible. Below is a kitchen we made with an Island that is over 4.3 metres long and has a join through the centre; where the join actually has to be pointed out to be seen. We have seen Kitchen Manufactures use the two height method but you really don't have to do this to achieve a long island. If you would like a long island, then you should not be put off by having to have a join; careful selection of your material, manufacturer and planning can achieve great results. Hi Carolyn, That's correct - marble is very porous and needs to be sealed every 12 months. Nowadays, there's a huge range of reconstituted stone options that require much less upkeep, but will still add that level of sophistication and class to your Hampton's style kitchen that you're looking for. Give Lithostone Calacatta Gold some consideration - our clients are loving it at the moment! if it's a rental i would invest in some tall modular bookshelves eg Ikea billy with combination of open shelves, solid or glass doors and shelves, space for printer and fax on top of matching filing cabinet and a chest of drawers for office supplies and set down counter spaces, wall shelves above the desks for books and reference materials, keep your original mismatched desks and buy some quality desk lamps and extension cords with circuit breakers and cable organisers to make sure you have the necessary power where it's needed.... if it's your own home i'd have the same furniture and invest in some extra power points, a dedicated phone line for fax and internet, and make sure you keep all receipts for your business tax and depreciation expenses...my suggested floor plan has the desks on opposite walls, bookshelves across the end wall and above the desks, twin filing cabinets, wall shelves, space for the aircon and a spare chair for visitors but the precise amount of storage depends on the products and services you supply and what equipment you need
