Comments (14)Ok, so we don't need engineered stone in our kitchen, as we have it there already, but we just had more of the same stone installed in our new powder room & ensuite to match the kitchen's earthy colour scheme. We do, however, need to choose a natural granite for our alfresco kitchen as engineered stones are not covered by manufactures' warranty in our situation. So, I stick with engineered and natural stones for the long term bench top of choice....See MoreNeed help on choosing bench top material for kitchen rennovation.
Comments (2)Hi Carolyn, That's correct - marble is very porous and needs to be sealed every 12 months. Nowadays, there's a huge range of reconstituted stone options that require much less upkeep, but will still add that level of sophistication and class to your Hampton's style kitchen that you're looking for. Give Lithostone Calacatta Gold some consideration - our clients are loving it at the moment! Below are some photos of a project still underway (bear with me on photo quality), but it may help as they've also opted for Hampton's style and have used Lithostone Calacatta Gold as there benchtop (and splashback). If you have some time, check out our project St Kilda Apartment #2 which uses the same benchtop colour/material - Lithostone Quartz Surfaces have some great shots, too. Hope this helps, good luck with your project! Kitchens by Matric...See MoreCan anyone help , What material is this benchtop? Or the exact name?
Comments (9)Hi 1991_kid, though this image may be a render, the stone tops do represent an actual material. You may like to look at the Natural Stone type called Quartzite. Quartzite comes in smaller slab sized that Granite and Man Made Quartz Reconstituted stone slabs and it is very hard (unlike marble) and comes in a variety of different colours. Quartzite stone slabs do come in various types of Grey and does come in a type that has a formation which looks similar to your image. Perhaps something like the Atlantic Stone Quartzite or the Taj Mahal Quartzite or the Grey Cristallo Extra Quartzite. Hope this is of help, Malcolm...See MoreGioenne Rapisarda
