One metre (between the back of the seat and the wall or passageway) is required for someone to be seated whilst another can get behind them to access the next seat along. Proportionally, 1.2m x 2.4m is a good proportion for a dining table for 10, which means the person's place at the head of the table will not encroach on the placing of the two diners on either side. Also 1.2 is more generous for serving to the centre of the table. There is no hard and fast rule to dining table dimensions. However, if you table is 1.0m or 1.1m wide, you will need to allow for a little more than 600mm per person in its length. Best way to test the ideal table size for you is to get some table mats and place them on a table as far apart as you feel most comfortable, then ascertain the table size by drawing a line around them.

While the laser cut screens look amazing they are not particularly good for sound proofing, I like the idea of ether a sliding or pocket door if you can cut the area open to the floor otherwise plantation shutters would be easy simple and able to open or shut depending on use of the room, someone else suggested a solar skylight or even a real skylight if you can afford it as the light is then all natural, to me a curtain looks like a cheap solution and I don't like that idea at all, you need a high end look not a short cut look as I think the curtains would give. Have the upper cabinets and bottom cabinets 2 different materials and colours so the sizing differences looks intentional. As for the bottom have it fingerpull so the sizing isnt as noticeable and the broom cupboard push to open. If your doing the cabinets i.e building and installing yourself then heights of hanging rods ect should be sized to what you prefer as you will be the one utilising the area. It will also look custom
