Hi there Victoria, Just trying to add a few more ideas, with a separate Pantry/Landry cupboard (this can easily be ducted and when the doors are closed very quite). Fridge and appliances all along the wall, the island can be what ever size you would prefer. It would also be nice to have a computer desk next to the kitchen by the window. I would also prefer the living area off the sliding doors to the alfresco area Bedroom 4 could have full height sliding doors coming together at the corner this can be close off or left open for times when extra space is needed for the family. And built in Wardrobes in the master would work best, just have something that blends in and looks special.

Planned Island (in the design photos) is square 1.2mx1.2m. From the back part of the kitchen, there is sufficient space to move it even 1.2m away. If we make the island smaller, there would be more room on each side for passage (current 0.72m), but even if we make it just 1m, that would only add only 0.1m on each side (bringing it up to 0.82m - enough to pass, but a bit tight in terms of looks, how it makes nice big open space appear crowded). And the island would be rather small so not really worth it.

Absolutely beautiful room, I would keep the furniture low backed so as not to overwhelm the space and to take advantage of the fabulous views, large rug, a nest of coffee tables, or timber to pick up timber in island, that Castlery sofa is stunning, don’t overcrowd it for maximum effect. Gorgeous.

You could add the 30 cm to the drawers making them just over a metre each. They would likely house all your crockery, cups and cutlery- much more accessible than cupboards and easy to unstack straight from the dishwasher. This would ‘push’ your bin to the end of the run - handy for people outside the kitchen to use and easier to empty bins as well. This set up would also move the sink closer to the end leaving a larger uninterrupted bench space. It may also be worth considering whether you need a double sink. We have had a single in our island for more than 15 years - including recent replacement during a kitchen reno) with up to 4 young adults living with us at the same time (6 of us in total) and never found it an issue. This would free up more bench space and give you an extra cupboard as cupboards with the sink in them don’t have a lot of room.
